The show opens today! It has been a challenging and exciting process to have imagined this space for so long while working in my studio, and to finally install last week. Each piece found its place without too much deliberation. Hope you can make it to the opening tonight, if not, the show runs until January 23rd, 2011. Or watch the web cam during gallery hours (Tues-Sat, 10am-4pm) to see if anyone is making txt msgs:

There's a bit of construction going on in Almonte, here are directions to the gallery from Ottawa:

If you are heading from Ottawa

-take the 417 west to exit 155 for March Rd/Regional Rd 49 Almonte

-Turn left onto March Rd/Regional Rd 49 for 10 or so km

-At the roundabout, continue straight onto Ottawa St/County Road 49

-At the Detour sign/ traffic light turn left (street sign says Martin St S),

-follow the curve of the road and you will be on Queen St

-continue on Queen Street over a bridge and train track

-after the train tracks, at the traffic light, turn right on to Mill St, Almonte’s downtown street

-follow Mill Street to the stop sign and turn right on to Almonte Street (this is where there is a big ‘Local Traffic Only’ sign, go though it.

-make a first left onto Mary street

-at the end of the street is the Textile Museum, park anywhere along Mary or turn right onto Rosamond
