Finished
I am just about finished the tiling job. I was been doing some grout touch-ups and the sealant today. It has been a very interesting job. It is about a 70 sq/ft bathroom and took about 95 hours over 7 weeks with approximately 16,800 beads and glass and tiles and PATIENCE! It looks beautiful and my customer is very happy.

New Shoes
I haven't bought new shoes in I-don't-know-how-long...so its about time to got some new shoes. They aren't too fancy, but meet the all important comfort, practicality and cute criterias. Which reminds me Krissy started a blog at I *heart* sensible shoes.

Little Trip
Jason and I took a little trip to Toronto. It was a nice relaxing time, and I was succesful in not being too busy. I did do a few things like:
Seing Paul Boddum and his poochie-poo paintings at the the Spring One of a Kind: It runs until Monday at 6:00pm so there is still time to see lots of crafters.
I also saw my friend Sasha Pierce's show at A.W.O.L gallery. It runs until April 3.
Jason and I also toured the Massive Change exhibition at the AGO. It was a bit pricey to get in ($18!!) but worth a look-see.
I also liked to see so much spring marketing. So many nice colours in all the stores! I had to buy these adorable undies from Candi Factory at the one of a kind.
I got some nice floral hair ties (but also double as a pretty bracellet) on Yonge St.
And even the fabric stores on Queen St were supplying all sorts of spring fun fur! How cute is that? It made me want to sew up some pink bears or bunnies.

Public Art
I went to the City of Ottawa Public Art Commission public reception tonight. It was good to see all the cute little maquettes and also interesting to see what people submitted.
Below is John Ceprano's. He has been doing rock sculptures along the Ottawa river for ages! This is his proposal outside for the building. He is working with a landscape achitect to make this huge installation with his rocks as the focal point. So nice!
Spring!
Montreal
My friend Emily and I went to Montreal on Friday. We saw a great exhibition of William Kentridge at Le Musee d'art Contemporain de Montreal. He made drawings and took frames of them as he went along and made them into animation. Very inspiring. We also went to see my friend Nadine's play Miss Orient(ed). It runs until March 27th. And I got a good dose of sushi. Yum. Its so nice that Montreal is so close to Ottawa. It makes for an excellent day trip.
Annie in the UK has set up a wonderful site for lost gloves. Its pretty amazing!!! She even has a PDF file with statistics and pie charts and graphs. So scientific! And a discussion forum on all topics related to lost gloves and mittens. WOW! The links section lists all other lost mitten affectionados. Its great to see all these people concerned with lost mittens. A small, but important topic.

Tulip
Today I picked up my giant 5' tulip to paint up pretty for the Tulip Festival. I think this is going to be a fun project to work on. I think it will have to be shades of PINK!!!! So spring!
Tonight is a busy arts night in Ottawa: I am going to the Governor General Art Awards at the National Gallery, Karsh-Masson Gallery has a vernissage and so does Gallery 101. I think there are others, but there is only so much cheese and veggie sticks a girl can eat.

Curling
Since I don't have cable,(as there is never anything good on TV anyway), and I'm still hunkering for a TV show, my only clear picture option is the CBC. Since there's no hockey (yay!), they are airing every Canadian's favorite sport: CURLING. I don't know any other the rules, but it sure is fun to watch. I thinks its been over for a few days now, but I am still thinking about it.
